Ahhhhh.....Vacation!!!!

Pat and I have been working so much, with moving the Gallery and all, we finally had a few hours to take a much needed break. We decided to head on out to Hawaii since neither he nor I have been there. We were both pleasantly surprised. Right when you land, you are leid. How is that for service? (giggles-may just have to go there more often) Anyway, there is a butterfly ride at the landing point which will give you a tour of the Island. This was very nice and relaxing--and who don't LOVE butterflies! While your in the air, LOOK AROUND, there are so many activities to do. We windsurfed, rode in a canoe, floated on a raft in the ocean, and even rode on whales!! I seem to have lost the pictures of that ...but boy was it fun! As you can see, I even balanced myself on a rolling log...and believe me...if I can do it...so can you!! I am so uncoordinated. I run into walls all the time, ask anyone close to me!! hehehe

While on the canoes, Pat and I decided to have a little contest. Who can find Jack Sparrow first?? Well, as you can see....I won!! Shhhh...don't tell him, but I cheated!! I can't control those canoes, so I left it and flew to find Jack. I needed a little alone time with him...isn't he dreamy?? Be careful, he offers you a drink..who knows what he would do to you if you drank too many!! Don't say I didn't warn you!

When you want to slow it down and relax there are many things to do there. There are chairs on the docks and beaches. There are places just to be with your special someone. There is a beautiful waterfall with a rainbow!! You will have to go see for yourself.

Ya know...I grew up in a camping family. I learned the etiquette of being around a fire at an early age. What I failed to learn..as you can see in the photo above...NEVER GO NEAR A FIRE IN A GRASS SKIRT!! Luckily, the fire was very near the water and Pat was walking behind me! He pushed me until I was under the water....He's my Hero!!!

So...when you get a chance...head to Hawaii http://slurl.com/secondlife/Hawaii/73/122/26/ Oh..almost forgot to tell you....you can rez there...so take some poses and have a great time!! :)

Glance Style

Today I got a chance to visit the New Glance Style Sim. They opened it early for bloggers, and since I am one, I signed up. The official opening will be June 20th at 1pm slt. This sim was built by Chloris Hathor, who is also the designer of Viva La Glam. The design is very detailed. The atmosphere is very pleasant and welcoming. The landing point is in the center of the Sim.
There is a water fountain, along with a river that runs through it. The
details are very nice. The doors to the shops are open, welcoming you in.

There are approximately 35 shops, including Nefertiti Kimagawa Mainstore, MEB Fashion, Mina Hair Fashion, Xposion, Anubis Style, Biaastice, Bolero Collection, Essential Soul, Indyra Originals, Naive, Purple Rose Jewelry, and Vanity Hair. Some shops have opening gifts.

Here I am standing in front of the MEB Fashion Shop. I am wearing the Cameron Purple Dress, which is their gift. Lots of nice things here at Glance Style!! The sim opens at 1pm slt with a party!! Bring your friends, have a good time!!

BBBC: Day 6 - Final Post

Today's Topic: What did you get out of your experience?

Do you think it will change the way you blog in the future?

I want you to take a look at this picture...What do you see? I see the start of a new day, the awaking of Mother Earth. Others may see it as the end of a beautiful day. What I am saying is this is what I have gotten out of blogging this past week...we are all different. We all have our own viewpoint and we all see things differently.

I really looked forward to reading the different posts every day! It really gave me a better perception of who all of you are. It also let me know that it is okay to open up and speak what is on my mind. To not be afraid. Blogging is much like a photograph. There are different layers and it is up to you to decide what layers you show that particular day.

I hope by reading my blogs you will get a better understanding of the kind of person I am. You will see my true personality. And by all means, if you like what you read, please comment and please follow me. :) I will do the same. Until my next post...I hope you dance!!

Oh, and I want to thank Alicia for letting me participate in this Challenge. It really has helped me. :)

BBBC : Day 5 --What's in a name??

What's in a name??

Today is free day on the Big Bad Blogger Challenge. Meaning we are free to write anything that comes to mind. Well...have I got lots to talk about...

Those who know me well, know that I am a Co-Owner of Lochlann Gallery- a SL Art Gallery. We are fairly new since we have only had our Grand Opening on June 1st. We display SL Photographs and SL Artwork. We have a great collection right now. Many of my fellow SL friends, and fellow Plurkers are featured.

Pat had the opportunity to build this gallery on school funded land. We built an amazing place, had our Grand Opening Party and then about a week later by accident the land owner auto-returned it to us. Our Gallery was a skybox, and she thought it would be great to put us on some of the land. She was trying to divide the land..and pressed that magical return button. Pat was off line at the time...I was relaxing on the Sol Mananero Sim...taking some pics for our blog..when I started getting boxes and boxes back....OMG...I had no idea what was happening. I started having a panic attack!! All I could think of was all the hard work and hours it took to put it all together. Well, I got an IM from her apologizing...I told her not to worry about it, that things happen. She explained about giving us land space...I stopped worrying and grew excited. My mind started racing thinking of all the possibilities.

Well, a few days later we were given our piece of land for Lochlann Gallery. Along with a notecard stating the covenant she wished. She wished that the buildings on the land would have the "old world" feeling. Well, for those who have been to the Gallery, you know that our building would not fit into this theme. She had also cut our prim count quite drastically, so those ideas in my head were automatically silenced. With this being said, Pat and I made an executive decision to move the Gallery.

We have moved the Gallery to a beautiful parcel. The Gallery is still a skybox, only cuz it was soo large. We put it on the ground and it took up the whole parcel. But....we did change a few things, and we now have a garden dance area on the ground where we will have special events. They say things happen for a reason. This was a disaster at first, but now it is a true blessing.

So, what's in a name? Our gallery was called Lochlann Gallery due to the fact that we were located on Lochlann. Well, now since we moved, it seems a little silly. We are currently looking for a new name for our "baby." I am thinking that we should stay clear of land names. We could really use your help...if you know of a great name...please IM Pat Kenaan or myself and give us your suggestion.

Oh...and be on the look-out!!! I'm thinking another party is in the making...don't have dates or times yet but....you will want to be there!! Take care & come see us!!

BBBC Challenge: Day 4 --Age--

Today's Topic: Is your avatar more or less your current biological age?
Do you portray a younger avatar or older? Why is this?

Second life is a place that you can be any age you would like to be. Pick a number and it's yours. There are skins that make you look 12, or perhaps 52. Many people change up for many reasons: fantasy, photos, or just like being younger. Some say they are younger in hopes of meeting an online mate (thinking the person is young themselves). Whatever the case my be, my feeling are...Age is nothing but a number!!!

I have met some people that will not tell you their rl age, and then some really don't care either way. In RL, I am usually in the middle..I have older friends, and younger. In SL, it is really the same way for me. Friendship happens when you enjoy the company of someone else, whether you are exploring, dancing, or just sitting around talking.

I am currently 40 years old. I like to think that my avatar is a similar age. She has a lot of things going for her like I do in real life. She has a purpose (Gallery Co-wner)- job, she owns real estate -a home, she has pets -responsibility, and she has many different circles of friends. She also, like myself, likes to have fun. Just the other day, I dressed in my teddy bear avatar and went friend visiting...well one of my friend's friends changed into a wolf avatar..and started chasing my teddy around...OMG..I was laughing soo hard!! (Nearly wet my shorts) I have been involved in other silly things, and that is ok...laughter keeps me young!!

So my feelings...don't get so hung up on age..you just may loss out on a great relationship or fantastic memories!!

BBBC: Day 3

Today's Topic : All about Relationships

Today, I choose to write about one of my very, very good friends here in Second Life. We have been friends since I first rezzed her in this crazy world. She had been here much longer than I, the day we met. She guided me, taught me, and encouraged me. We remain great friends to this day.
On the day we met, I managed to teleport onto her land (don't ask me how) and for some reason I was messing with my hair. I must've thought that I could rez boxes anywhere. Well, needless to say, I left my hair on her land. She is very prim conscience, so she IM'd me, (we all know hair is very very primy), told me that I had left my hair....and that she would return it to me and that it would be in my lost & found. All I heard was....blah blah blah hair blah. Not because she wasn't speaking English, she was, but because I was sooo new!! She took the time to explain to me in detail what I needed to know. We had some many laughs when I tried to walk, or fly...I crashed into things over and over. Most of the time she would save me by teleporting me out of the place I was stuck. To this day, we still laugh at what a mess I was. One day, she tried to explain how to fix hair (ya know when there is that one piece that falls in the wrong spot?) ..boy did that take forever! Oh..I could go on and on with the stories, but I am sure you all have them.
Since that day, she has been a true friend. Whenever I have a question, or just need to talk she is always there for me. She is what keeps me coming back! Second Life is not about the houses or land you own, or the business you have...it is about the relationships you build!! Connecting with people, I think is what Second Life is about...at least that is why I am here!!
I want to thank LillyMar for being my friend, my first SL friend!!
Thank you for showing me the ropes!!
Thank you for being you!!
xoxoxo

Big Bad Blogger Challenge: Day 2

Topic Question: List 3 Postitive things about your Second life/Real Life
I've had so many positive things happen for me in my Second Life lately, I am not really sure where to start. But I will....
First of all...Friends!!...the picture is a collage of some of the people that have made my second life a great experience. These people have touched my life in so many ways. Many of them I have laughed with almost to the point of wetting myself, some have witnessed plenty of my virtual tears. Each of these people ( plus some that aren't pictured-they know who they are) mean the world to me. I could not imagine my second life without them. Thanks guys!!
Second...Lochlann Gallery!! ..You can NOT imagine how much joy I get out of this creation. This is a dream. Who would've thought that I could help put such a place together. Second Life Photography is simply amazing! How people can be so creative is beyond me! I am so glad that we have put together a place to show what can be done. We have sooo many ideas!! If you have any ideas please...let me know!!!
Last but not least....Pat!!...He is the most positive man. He always had a kind word. He has such patience with me. He always has a way of boosting my confidence. He has brought joy into my second life. Before I met him, I was ready to quit...he gave me a purpose. Ask anyone who knows him..I speak the truth when it comes to this man!! This is why he is special to me.

The Big Bad Blogger Challenge 2010

I am a fairly new blogger, and I am also a plurker. While I was going through my timeline I came across the mention of a Big Bad Blogger Challenge 2010. I was intrigued, so I im'd Alicia Cheneaux in world to find out the details. Basically, it is a challenge for all bloggers to post a blog every day for a week. She will give a question to answer, or you can just blog about anything. In a nutshell, it is a challenge for bloggers to continue what they do. We all love a challenge, don't we?

Today's Topic: Why did you become a blogger? How has it enriched your life?

Hmmm, to be quite honest, I am not sure. I know that since I've joined SL a year ago, I have read so many blogs and find them very interesting. I love the fact that I could scroll through the blogs (especially the fashion blogs) and find out where I can find items to improve my avatar. Then there are times when I scroll through them and laugh, seeing the silly things my friends do.

Here is Scarlot before she read fashion blogs....

and then look at the profile shot. Much better, huh?

Has blogging enriched my life? To be honest, not so much. I am just starting this blogging thing. I am also computer illiterate, so creating a page, adding pictures, and posting a blog takes me like forever and is quite challenging. I entered this challenge in hopes that it will make me a better blogger. Fashion is not my thing (that is why I read all of your blogs). I hope I find my creativeness in me to keep you entertained. I can be quite funny in RL if I wanted. If you leave my blog page with a smile on your face or a warm feeling in your heart, I will know that I have succeeded. Happy Blogging & Thanks for giving me inspiration to try something new!!

SL Wedding

Tim & Yannah
On Thursday, June 10, 2010, my good friend, Yannah married
her man, Tim. I was invited and attended the wedding. It was very
beautiful. She looked so lovely. The used traditional vows and also
wrote their own. Tim's vows were on the humorous side. He mentioned that
he would now have to listen & love her 80's music. Yannah's vows
were more of the lovey dovey kind. Those are the kind that
weddings are made with. :)
I want to wish Tim & Yannah a very happy SLife together.
They make a beautiful couple!!
Congrats Tim & Yannah Fetiocci

Time for thinking

The last few days have been simply chaotic for me!!

I am finally taking time out for myself. I am trying this new Yoga pad I purchased, hopefully it won't be like all the other exercise equiptment that I have my clean laundry hanging on. I decided to put this one outside on my deck, since that is where I most like to be. Outside.

If any of you decide to stop by the gallery, don't worry. We did NOT close shop! Our landlady, Marla, decided to section off her mainland so that she could give us a piece of it... and in doing so accidently hit that auto-return button. Needless to say...I totally had a panic attack when I get a notice saying items were being returned to me from Lochlann. As soon as Marla divies up the land we will be back in business. Although, I am feeling happy to have a little free time to catch up on me.

Did I tell you that I had a REZ day?? Yep, this girl has been here a year already! Amazing how time just flies. Sometimes I sit back and just smile. I smile because I think about all the friends I have made in SL. Friends all over the world. How neat is that? One of my best friends live in the UK!!! In my rl...that would never happen. Thank you friends for being who you are!! I love you all :)

Greetings Everyone~
Welcome to Scarlotland!

Wow!! I can't believe a year has past since I first rezzed into this world called Second Life. Time sure does fly in this little virtual world. This blog will tell my tales, share my laughter and I am sure will show some of my tears.

I found SL through an rl ex-boyfriend. He showed me that there is a place where I can be anyone I wanted to be, do anything I want to do. He and I didn't work out... but I found a place that I love to be, and found many friends that have touched my life in so many ways.

This blog will show you all about my life, my friends, and my world. Welcome to my world, welcome to Scarlotland!!
